In order to dispel the myths and stereotypes that can be used in relation to youth justice, Oberstown has produced a language reference guide to make it easy to use the correct language and terminology when talking about young people in conflict with the law. Challenging stigmatising language is important because discrepancies between public opinion and facts means that people may be misinformed about youth justice issues.
