Following her appointment by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs as chairperson designate to the Board of Management at Oberstown Children Detention Campus, Professor Ursula Kilkelly was invited to meet with the Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children, a delegation from which visited Oberstown in June 2015.
Professor Kilkelly, who has been a member of the Oberstown Board since 2012, is recognised as an authority in the areas of youth justice and detention practice. Oberstown Campus is the national detention facility for young people aged between 12 and 17, either on remand or committed following sentence by the courts.
